Travelers come to islands like Oahu to get lost in the history and culture that helped form what they are today and there are fewer ways better to get lost in Oahu’s history than the Diamond Head Hike and Luau experience! Travelers to Oahu can scale the over 760’ volcanic crater, formed during the Honolulu Volcanic Event, before ending their day with a traditional festivity at Waikiki’s only beachfront luau!

Our farm to table luau showcases the unique and delicious flavors of Hawaii. The food and menu are second to none and it is coupled with an award-winning show that will take our guests on an adventure through Polynesia culminating with a world-champion fire knife spectacular!

Mixing adventure with a celebration of life and love, this unique tour drives home the finest parts of the Hawaiian Island chain, specifically that known as The Gathering Place.

Diamond Head Hike Details

Towering over the nearby cities of Waikiki and Honolulu, the Diamond Head volcanic tuff serves as a magnificent backdrop to the concrete jungles of Oahu. Travelers seeking adventure and looking to add something more active to their travels will enjoy the picturesque walk to the summit of the crater along the 1.6-mile trail. All along the path, hikers will get an in-depth visual understanding of the crater while enjoying the audio descriptions of the culture, geography, wildlife, and history of the natural state monument.

Diamond Head Hike Map and Luau

Accompanying you on your hike up the 762’-high crater will be an official audio tour that dives deep into what makes up the crater. From its geography to the legends surrounding it to the wildlife you may pass by on your trek up, the 60-minute audio tour is your guide to everything you could possibly want to know about Diamond head. As you continue on your path to higher altitudes, the tour will point out locations of interest, giving a look through time.

Once at the summit, travelers will look out onto the island of Oahu, where the cities of Honolulu and Waikiki stretch out below. The views at the top are incredible, a suitable reward for making the journey up the towering tuff. Enjoy the views, pick out sites that you may recognize from your time on Oahu, and soak in the beauty of the island and the great expanse of blue that surrounds it.

Along with the unbelievable views of the island, the brave guests that hiked Diamond Head will receive a series of merchandise commemorating their hard work. Guests will walk away with a certificate, t-shirt, souvenir tag, and tote touting their accomplishment of conquering the volcanic crater.

What to Expect:

Once the volcanic crater has been tackled, guests will enjoy an evening of Hawaiian custom with the Diamond Head luau. This beach-side festival will introduce you to the finer points of the culture spread across the island chain.

You’ll enjoy traditional offerings like a lei greeting and local beverages and a full-sized buffet, complete with kalua pork cooked in an imu oven, fresh local fish, and other flavors pulled from the Polynesian and other regions of the Pacific.

The evening will include a series of interactive activities, including hula lessons, lei making, ukulele lessons, before culminating in the exciting fire knife dance, all while the natural formation of Diamond Head is outlined in the distance against the horizon.
